Angelica – Church reconverted into a unique place of life

Located 2 kms from the Haute Picardie TGV station, this church, dating from the reconstruction was desecrated in 1976. It was alternately a hall and a local associative before being completely revisited by its new architects who, after 4 years of considerable work, have made an amazing home worthy of appearing in the top 10 unusual places of life.

The very large living room includes kitchen, dining room and office. The kitchen at one end has views of the fields and from there we access the terrace. Its long L-shaped worktop runs along the thick walls covered with natural lime. It allows to position all the necessary elements while delimiting the space dedicated to it. On this same level, the old sacristy has become a bathroom with bath and shower. In the living area a huge wood stove with amazing shape and performance adapted to this place brings additional warmth and originality.

The space and the ceiling height have been used and made profitable with the creation of a mezzanine which hosts 2 bedrooms and a large landing. A ladder makes it possible to reach the last room, an intimate cocoon that took place in the old bell tower now bathed in light on both sides with this sweet impression of getting closer to the stars and angels. A renovation with quality materials while maintaining the identity of this place, the bet was successful for this couple of architects.
