19th century master villa on the banks of the Seine
In Villequier, a city known for its link with the poet Victor Hugo and his collection “Les Contemplations” published in 1866, stands facing the Seine this villa from 1861.
The discovery of this fully furnished 218sqm building takes place in an environment outside time.
As soon as you cross the wrought iron gate, the facade stands out behind its magnificent garden. While strolling, discovering a greenhouse, passing by a marble bench guarded by “Chipies” and around a pond, this garden offers nooks in the vegetation for moments of relaxation in an authentic setting.
The gravelled driveway leads to the villa architecturally composed of three parts.
The central part in brick is the first construction dating from 1861. On each side of its wings, a modern extension takes shape accompanied by a large half-moon opening and a terrace out of sight.
The three external steps invite the visitor to discover the place. The bright entrance leads to two wings.
The right wing devoted to relaxation reveals a 20 sqm lounge with a piano and a bench, so you can let yourself be carried away by the music. Continuing, a reception room of 36 sqm has direct access to the terrace, furnished with garden furniture. This room reveals, among other things, three beautiful bookcases and a spectacular chandelier.
The left wing, for its part, is devoted to daily life with its dining room of approximately 15 sqm and, in continuity, its independent fully fitted and equipped kitchen of 22 sqm.
It has a large central island with a dining area and gives access to the second terrace.
A sliding door hides the fitted laundry room and reveals the first bedroom. The latter located in the attic is furnished with great practicality.
A bathroom and a toilet complete the latter.
Back in the entrance hall, the beautiful wooden staircase leads to the first floor landing with two storage spaces.
On this floor, two beautiful bedrooms of 24 sqm and 30 sqm, independent but communicating according to desires, capture the attention with their spectacular view of the Seine.
These two bedrooms are equipped with their respective dressing rooms and bathrooms with toilets. One of them has a small balcony allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
The landing on the second floor also has its two storage spaces which are very practical. The last two bedrooms of the villa of approximately 20 sqm each reveal a refined decoration, not lacking in charm and also have their respective bathroom and toilet.
The five bedrooms are all equipped with a desk area and, if desired, a television screen.
The living environment, the careful decoration carried out by an interior designer and the landscape changing over the hours and tides bewitch throughout the visit.
Just 1h30 from the gates of Paris, it will seduce city dwellers with a hectic life in search of nature and wide open spaces.
