Tiny houses in Vosges wood in the heart of the forest
In the heart of the Vosges du Nord nature park, below a footpath leading to the ruins of Hohenfeld castle, are two “tiny houses” (micro-houses) made of Vosges wood with a total surface area of 33 m². These minimalist houses, which are becoming more and more common in the United States, are nestled in a peaceful village on a 21 ares plot of land which also contains a forest.
Built in 2019, the first tiny house was designed to accommodate a family. It offers an 18m² fitted kitchen with plenty of storage space, a bathroom with a dry toilet and a bathtub. The living space has been designed to be modular according to your desires: as a living room, dining room or even as a bedroom at night. Upstairs, bathed by the warmth of the wood stove, is a cosy and warm night space.
Built in 2020, the second “tiny house”, out of water out of air, remains to be fitted out according to the needs of its future happy owners. Its interior space of 15 m² could allow the installation of a relaxation room, an office and then a bathroom on the first level. It also has a mezzanine that allows two sleeping areas, all on a solid floor of northern fir.
The philosophy behind these micro-homes is naturally that of seeking to reduce the environmental impact of the habitat. Powered by a solar-powered electricity network coupled with a generator, the tiny houses are completely self-sufficient in energy. Purification is carried out using a phyto-purification tank to clean grey water.
A 24 m² flat-roofed wooden garage completes this property which will delight nature lovers looking for an ideal life surrounded by greenery or city dwellers looking for a bucolic pied-à-terre.
