Located near the Madine Lake, this castle benefits from a location in an exceptional green environment and has a surface area of 520 m² for the main residence and 120 m² for the annex house. This castle was the former residence of a large Lorraine family of the five Great Horses around 1860.

Renovated for the most part by the owners while retaining the original features such as the mouldings, the stained glass windows and its magnificent fireplaces, it has high ceilings and generously proportioned rooms and has all the cachet of a residence full of history.

The first floor houses the ceremonial rooms and notably a pleasant double reception room with a fireplace extended by a south-west facing terrace with a soothing view of the Meuse coast. This level also offers a first study with oak panelling and a second with a fireplace. An independent kitchen, a storeroom, a hallway, a bathroom and a library also take place on this level.

The upper floors are accessed either by a lift or by a wooden staircase nestling in the tower. It leads to a vast landing room with a billiard table, which in turn leads to a separate space that could be used as a master suite, three beautiful bedrooms, a master bedroom of almost 50 m² (538 sq ft) with a view over the parklands, and a bathroom. An original carved wooden door opens onto the ground floor which comprises a large workshop room, a sports room, a laundry room, a bathroom and cellars.

For lovers of peace and nature, its park has retained its original design and includes several rare species and a remarkable tree. The annex house with a separate access from the street would be perfect for a gîte or bed and breakfast once it has been renovated. Numerous outbuildings with the former stables and servants’ quarters can also be renovated.

The castle has been awarded the “Fondation du Patrimoine” label.
