Old Chapel House (15th century)? Dinan

Thanks to the support and collaboration of the architectural workshop “One plus One”, Espaces Atypiques presents this remarkable project to renovate the Clarisses chapel, a building built in the 15th century, and located in the historic heart of the very beautiful city of Dinan. Its wonderful volumes and its impressive frame offered many fields of possibilities to architects. The “One plus One” workshop favored the highlighting of its vast volumes on the principle of additional terraces, thus allowing a sparkling orchestration of the frame and its correspondence with the entire structure. The concept of building “boxes in the box”, authorized the creation of separate spaces day and night, without ever distorting the spirit of the building, and the creation of a harmonious staging around its centerpiece, the frame. The reinterpreted chapel thus becomes the theater of well-being, and if the creation of these large volumes and terraces constantly highlights the beautiful characteristics of the site, the night spaces preserve privacy.
