FENG SHUI REVISITED BASTIDE

To the south of Aix-en-Provence, worthily posted facing the rocky outcrop of the village of Cabriès, this 18th century bastide with a surface area of 600 sqm, has been entirely modernized and redesigned according to the rules of the Fen Shui art of living.

In the landscaped and wooded park of 5.6 hectares, the perception of the noise of the water flowing in the basins and fountains provides a feeling of tranquility. Its owners have elegantly succeeded in creating a disruptive place, which brings together opposites (the Ying and the Yang), combining the architecture classified as a “remarkable monument” and the fluidity of circulation in the vast spaces with colorful atmospheres, enriched with mirrors to capture the energy of light. A gallery at the top of the double staircase gives access to three other bedrooms, also treated as suites, and leads to the two bedrooms that share a bathroom. The converted attic offers two new comfortable rooms with shared bathrooms. An outdoor area is dedicated to the 13 x 6 meter swimming pool and its pool-house. Another space in the park houses a tennis court. At the entrance of the property, a janitor’s house of 135 sqm with a garden, a workshop and a greenhouse of 116 sqm complete the set of its outstanding services.
